Develop designs, prepare estimates and/or manage prepared projects to ensure quality construction of natural gas distribution system additions, expansions, and modifications in accordance with all Company policies and accepted standards to meet the needs of new and existing customers within budgetary guidelines. Provide project management services for these projects from inception through completion.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares project designs and estimates and/or manages prepared projects under minimal supervision. Designs must incorporate reliable, economical, safe, and timely expansion of the division’s natural gas distribution facilities.
2. Follows projects through the construction process to ensure timely completion and accurate posting of construction documents, as-built data and financial records.
3. Communicates with customers and other work groups to ensure internal and external expectations are met.
4. Incorporates safety in the design, operation, and/or management of facilities.
5. Effectively manages assigned projects while maintaining work product reliability and volume.
6. Functions in a team leadership role for the coordination of on site work activities and communications. Represents the work group/organization in presentations to management or similar company settings.
7. Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
1. An associates degree with a minimum of five years progressively responsible related experience in design/construction/project management experience; or
2. A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with a minimum of six years progressively responsible related experience in related design/construction/project management.
3. Valid driver’s license.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customer in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with experience or knowledge of the technical area.
NUMERIC SKILLS:
Requires the ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric and geometric operations and/or moderately complex statistical methods.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Requires a working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, reports and graphical design.
WORK CONDITIONS:
This position will work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting
