Position Title: Sr Instructional Designer
Position in City: Dallas, TX
Position Details: BASIC FUNCTION:

Senior level position responsible for identifying training and development needs, evaluating programs and designing planned learning activities that support the business strategy.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Leads the assessment of enterprise training and development needs to insure alignment with the business strategy.

2. Designs, develops and implements training programs and activities for line and staff positions.

3. Researches, implements and evaluates a variety of methodologies to support the business strategy.

4. Develops training programs in coordination with vendors or subject matter experts.

5. Designs, develops, evaluates and supports training programs and knowledge management tools for business systems and processes.

6. Evaluates training programs to determine overall program effectiveness.

7. Keeps abreast of current and new training methods/techniques, materials and equipment, as well as gas industry related regulations and trends.

8. Coaches and mentors more junior Instructional Designers.

9. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR Management, Education or a closely related field and five years of progressively responsible related experience; or

2. A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and seven years of progressively responsible related experience.

Experience in natural gas operations is preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and build consensus with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts to individuals that may have a high degree of knowledge in the field or with individuals that have little or no background in the area under discussion.

NUMERIC SKILLS:
Requires the ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Requires proficient knowledge of Microsoft software applications to create complex documents, reports and/or graphics.

WORK CONDITIONS:
Primary job responsibilities require work inside an office environment.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.

May require minimum to moderate travel.
