Fort Necessity
Fort Necessity

The site has the potential to initially develop 3-5 billion cubic feet (Bcf) caverns for a total of 9-15 Bcf, with six-turn injection and withdrawal capabilities. Depending on market demand, four or more additional caverns could be developed.

The site is strategically located within one mile of Tennessee Gas Pipeline's 30" 800 leg and Columbia Gulf's two 30" and 36" mainlines as well as six miles from Regency Energy Partner's 30" Winnsboro Extension and eight miles from ANR Pipeline's two 30" and 36" mainlines.

On June 19, 2009, Atmos Pipeline and Storage received 7(c) certification from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to operate and construct the facility.
