
Bill Payment Assistance
If you are struggling to pay a past due balance, assistance is available. Atmos Energy is here to help you find solutions to pay your natural gas bill. Even if you have not qualified in the past, financial assistance from federal, state, and local programs is available through energy assistance agencies and state housing authorities.
- Atmos Energy and our customers partner to provide funds through our Sharing the Warmth program. During the past year, over $4.6 million has been provided to support customers in need.
- In May, 2021, the federal LIHEAP program (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) released additional funds to all states and territories to pay utility bills.

You can set up an installment plan that will spread out the payment of your balance over time. There is no charge or fee. To set up an installment plan, login to your Account Center and select the Payment Assistance tab. You can also call us during business hours to set up a plan that works for you.

Rental and Utility Assistance
Tenants in all counties can contact the Colorado Heat Help Line at 866.432.8435 to apply for assistance to pay utility bills, past-due, and forward rent.
Percentage of Income Payment Plan
Qualified Atmos Energy customers in Colorado can take advantage of the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP). This program provides a fixed bill credit based on an affordable percentage of household income and the customer’s annual, estimated natural gas bill.
Low-income Home Weatherization Assistance
Atmos Energy partners with Energy Outreach Colorado and the Colorado Energy Office to manage and provide funds for home weatherization assistance and energy efficiency services to low-income qualified Coloradans.

Homeowners and tenants can apply for utility bill assistance, in addition to mortgage and rental assistance, and help with home weatherization services through the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation.

Rental and Utility Assistance
Tenants and landlords outside of Fayette and Jefferson County can apply for assistance to pay utility bills, past-due, and forward rent with the Kentucky Housing Corporation.
Kentucky Installment Plan
Residential customers with a past due balance greater than $25 that accumulated prior to October 1, 2020, have been automatically enrolled in an installment plan as issued by the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Affected customers have been notified by postal letter or an email with details.

Rental and Utility Assistance
Tenants and landlords in all parishes excluding Caddo, Calcasieu, East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Lafayette, Orleans, and St. Tammany parishes can apply for assistance to pay utility bills, past-due, and forward rent with the Louisiana Housing Corporation.
If you live in Caddo, Calcasieu, East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Lafayette, Orleans and St. Tammy parishes you must reach out to local programs, which can be found at the bottom of the Louisiana Housing Corporation webpage.
PUC Special Order
As of July 16, 2020, the Louisiana Public Utilities Commission has lifted the ban for disconnection due to nonpayment pursuant to Special Order 43-2020. If you need bill payment assistance, Atmos Energy is here for you and has solutions to help manage your past due balance so that gas service is not shut off.
Our Louisiana customers are eligible for installment plans with up to 12-months to repay. There is no charge or fee. To set up an installment plan, login to your Account Center and select the Payment Assistance tab. You can also call us during business hours to set up a plan that works for you: 888.286.6700, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Virginia Payment Plan
All Virginia customers with past due amounts are eligible for the COVID-19 Relief Payment Plan, which allows for payment terms from 6-24 months. To sign up for the COVID-19 Relief Payment Plan, call our Customer Contact Center at 888.286.6700 during business hours.
Complaints on payment plan related disputes may be filed with the Virginia State Corporation Commission.
