Low Income Weatherization and Bill Payment Assistance

Atmos Energy partners with Energy Outreach Colorado to manage and provide funds for home weatherization assistance to low-income qualified Coloradans. EOC also offers additional programs to low-income residents as well as affordable multi-family property owners and nonprofit facilities helping them to access cost-effective energy efficiency services.

Additionally, customers in Colorado can also contact the Colorado Energy Office to learn about a free Weatherization Assistance Program to Colorado’s low-income residents, giving them the opportunity to access cost-effective energy efficiency services. These programs give eligible residents the ability to save money on their energy bills and improve the health and safety of their homes.

Percentage of Income Payment Plan

Qualified Atmos Energy customers in Colorado can take advantage of the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP). This program provides a fixed bill credit based on an affordable percentage of household income and the customer’s annual, estimated natural gas bill.

Determine Eligibility

You must apply for and receive Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) funding. The heating season application period is every year from November 1 through April 30. Click here to apply.

The Colorado LEAP office will notify Atmos Energy if you qualify, then Atmos Energy will determine final eligibility. Your PIPP credit is determined by applying your total LEAP benefit to your annual estimated bill and subtracting the customer’s deemed affordable amount. Customers having a balance in excess of their deemed affordable amount qualify for PIPP.

Qualified customers will be automatically enrolled and will receive an enrollment letter explaining all benefits. Your Atmos Energy account will be enrolled our Budget Billing plan (part of PIPP program rules).
