Mid-Tex Weatherization

Low Income Weatherization Assistance

Qualified customers in North, Central and East Texas (excluding customers in the City of Dallas) can apply for home upgrades to help reduce energy consumption and lower energy utility bills.

This program is implemented through participating Keeping The Warmth (KTW) partner agencies and provides energy savings materials and services (depending on location and availability) such as:

  • Gas Piping - Inside Home Repair 
  • Customer Owned Gas Yard Line Repair
  • Gas Water Heater Replacement
  • Gas Heater Replacement
  • Insulation - Attic
  • Insulation - Wall
  • Gas Water Heater Blanket
  • Duct Sealing
  • Caulking, Weatherstripping, Duct Sealing, Wall Outlet Covers, Aerators

Eligibility 
Current Atmos Energy customers in North and Central Texas (excluding customers in the City of Dallas) who meet the following criteria are eligible to participate.

  • Low Income - Low-income customers can apply for assistance by contacting a KTW partner agency nearest them.  These KTW agencies will qualify customers to ensure they are eligible to receive assistance.
  • Senior Citizen - The primary account holder that is 65 years or older and meets eligibility requirements can apply through a KTW partner agency located nearest them.

Statewide Weatherization Assistance Program
Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs operates the Weatherization Assistance Program with funds from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). WAP is designed to help low income customers control their energy costs through installation of weatherization materials and education.
