If your business is considering natural gas service to fuel energy demands for a data center or a standby power generation application, Atmos Energy encourages you to contact us at your earliest opportunity. Typically, these facilities have a very high natural gas demand and often rely on natural gas for standby generation in the event of power outages. A gas distribution system may not have available capacity to serve large data center demands and would require fortification planning to serve these facilities.

Our standard Transportation Tariffs are not suitable due to the large natural gas demand and/or the intermittent usage patterns. A special contract would be necessary to address appropriate terms and conditions, which could include, but are not limited to:

• Customer's financial responsibility for gas system fortification to serve the proposed demand
• Rules for nomination and transport of natural gas supply 
• Hourly measurement and balancing of natural gas supply/usage requirements
  • Application of daily/hourly gas supply pricing for imbalances
  • Use of remote control by the Company to limit gas deliveries
• Terms of Interruptible Service may be established 
• Alternative rate structures may be required
