Recognizing the successes of leading utilities that are focused on customer engagement through clear communication, Escalent recently named Atmos Energy a 2022 Customer Champion in its 2022 Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement: Residential study.

Escalent, an award-winning data analytics and advisory firm, surveyed nearly 79,000 residential electric, natural gas and combination utility customers of the 141 largest U.S. utility companies. Utilities who were selected as Customer Champions had Engaged Customer Relationship (ECR) index scores in the top decile of the industry, the top score within their respective benchmark segment, or an ECR score within 20 points of the top benchmark segment score and above the industry average.

Among natural gas-only utilities, Atmos Energy placed third in the Midwest region and sixth in the South region with ECR scores of 737 and 761, respectively. These rankings indicate the effectiveness of our proactive communication efforts during a time of higher energy costs nationwide, making sure our customers have vital information by way of direct emails, detailed landing pages published on our website, and amplified messaging on our social media channels with tips to conserve energy as well as free programs and financial assistance to help with past due balances.
