On Aug. 21, Atmos Energy donated a 19-passenger Mobile Assistance Office to the Adams, Jefferson, Franklin and Claiborne County (AJFC) Community Action Agency. The Wi-Fi- ready bus has two work stations, storage cabinets and a sitting area. The vehicle will help provide seniors, the homebound, the handicapped and others with assistance in LIHEAP, education, tax preparation, employment, housing and Head Start for nine counties in the Natchez area.

“We are so appreciative that Atmos Energy selected us, particularly because of the rural area we serve,” said AJFC CEO Sandra Sewell. “This enables us to provide services to our clients who have encountered a barrier getting to our offices.”

“I have worked with AJFC for many years,” added Operations Supervisor Andrew Calvit, who grew up in Natchez and was a three-year AJFC board member. “A lot of these rural counties don’t have a brick and mortar building to work out of. This bus will be like an office on wheels. They can pull into a shopping center parking lot and provide LIHEAP and other helpful program assistance.”
