Atmos Energy Named to Newsweek’s “Most Trustworthy Companies in America” List

Among the five AtmoSpirit principles that capture the values our company celebrates and embraces, “Inspire Trust” is listed first and followed by Be at Your Best, Bring Out the Best in Others, Make a Difference, and Focus on the Future. Today, our commitment to Inspire Trust has helped us earn recognition on Newsweek’s list of “Most Trustworthy Companies in America.”

In collaboration with market research firm Statista, Newsweek compiled its second annual list by engaging 25,000 customers, employees and investors to evaluate 1,800 public and 1,300 private U.S. companies with revenues over $500 million. Survey participants were asked how much they agreed with statements such as "I trust in this company to treat me fairly as its customer," "I believe this company offers good opportunities for career development," and "I believe this company would be a good long-term investment," among others. From the original pool of 3,100 companies, the “Most Trustworthy Companies in America” lists 700 companies across 23 industries. Atmos Energy ranks number 31 in the Energy & Utilities industry, which is the list’s second largest industry with 47 companies awarded, and we are one of only 12 companies headquartered in Dallas.

This latest recognition from Newsweek follows two more recent accolades. In February, Forbes ranked Atmos Energy sixth overall on its list of “America’s Best Midsize Employers,” and last August we were included among “America’s Best Employers by State,” also from Forbes.
